Musical Sensory Garden
Come and join Akiko for toddler music time. Let's use all senses to feel and express the joy of music, Listen, see, smell, sing, move and dance together!. Musical Sensory Gardens plays and important role in mental health (and even physical health). It can improve cognitive function, emotional development, social skills and motor skills.
Wandering through our garden and led by out curiosity. we will notice and collect Mother Nature items that invoke awe within us. These collections will be used yo create a Nature Window, a lens that encourage us to appreciate the sky, clouds, creatures, as well a textures, colors and pattern around us differently. With usage of different mediums, we will explore how the nature of sounds such as volume, tempo, dynamics, can impact our thoughts, emotions, and even physical and verbal responses. Key Skills Learned: Self-compassion, Perspective Taking, Focus, Calmness
Bag of Worries
Using self decorated rocks, we will discuss things that worry us and normalize such worries with labels of emotions, Lying down, children will be shown how each worry, when not shared with a loved one or a friend, can be heavy on our hearts. And vice versa, when shared, how we can feel lighter and more at ease. Key Skills Learned: Self-compassion, Calmness
Big Belly Breathing
We will make our sock dolls, place them on our believes, and experience the magic that come with awareness of our breathing pace, depth, and patterns. Children will learn that our breath is a miraculous blessing and superpower we all posses, to help cope with difficult emotions and return us to a state of tranquility. Through our own creations of flower bouquets in a self-decorated jars, we will explore how colors, textures, scents, shapes, and arrangements of flowers inform and shape our thoughts and feelings. Key Skills Learned: Self-compassion, Perspective Taking, Focus, Calmness
Family Flow: Yoga for Bonding and Wellness
A special class designed for parents and their 0-3 years old children to embark on a yoga journey together.
